we love acai bowls! they are delicious, filling, and really good for you-plus once you've had one of these bowls of goodness, you'll crave them over and over again. recently i came across these convenient pureed acai packs in the frozen section of the (natural) food store-we now stock up on them and make delicious combinations of these superfood bowls (within just a few quick minutes) at home. whenever your bananas are getting too ripe, just peel them, cut in slices, and freeze in little baggies- you'll be able to use them in this recipe as well as in your smoothies:blend together:

  • 1 to 1 1/2 cut up frozen banana (or not frozen works too-make sure blueberries are frozen)

  • 1 packet (unsweetened) acai for smoothie

  • 1/4 cup coconut or almond milk

  • 1/4 cup frozen organic blueberries or 1/4 cup frozen organic strawberries

  • 1-2 tbs almond or peanut butter (to add protein/optional)

  • 1 tbs raw honey or agave syrup (if you like it on the sweeter side/optional)

  • 1-2 tsp cacao powder (optional)

top the cold acai mixture with your favorite cut up fruits & berries, coconut flakes, chia seeds, cocoa nibs, a good quality granola, drizzle of agave syrup, or a dollop of almond butter. enjoy as soon as possible before it melts!
