it's summer, it's finally hot, and good watermelons and cantaloupes are in abundance (and sweet). make a refreshing granita for dessert or just to cool off:

in a blender blend together (you can also use an immersion blender):
ingredients for 2 servings-
  • 1/2 cup cut up seeded or seedless watermelon
  • 1/4 cup cut up cantaloupe
  • a few raspberries (6-8)
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • a few mint leaves 
  • crushed ice (1/4-1/2 cup)
  • 1-2 tbs agave syrup
